Byron Bay is famous for it’s beaches and for being the most easterly point of Australia. It also has a wide variety of choice when it comes to wheelchair accessible hotels, attractions and activities. From beach wheelchairs to board riding, stunning views whilst sipping coffee and accommodation to suit all budgets.
Without further ado, I present to do the top hotels in Byron Bay that have taken our assessment and have disabled access and are wheelchair accessible.
I have personally inspected Apartments Inn Byron and their wheelchair accessible apartment is a great option when considering Byron for a holiday destination. It’s nice and roomy and has it’s own courtyard for you to enjoy some sunshine.
There are a number of ground floor units with interconnecting rooms, so makes a great option for those travelling in groups that need a bit more space. Check out the full details [Click Here]
Mildenhall Cottage is one of a number of cottages located in the Cape Byron State Conservation Area and managed by National Parks.
It’s a stunning setting and as an added bonus is also accessible. Although it doesn’t tick all the boxes it will suit many wheelchair users. A beach wheelchair is available for use. Ask about it when you book. Check the full assessment details [Click Here]
As with Mildenhall, this cottage is also under management of National Parks. If it were any closer to the waves, you’d have sand between your toes. It’s right on the beach overlooking ‘The Pass’.
This is a two bedroom cottage and although it wouldn’t suit everyone, it’s worth checking the assessment to see if it might suit you. [Click Here]
Ever wondered what it would be like to live like a lighthouse keeper? Well, here’s your chance!
This cottage features an almost panoramic view that takes in the beaches, coastline and the lighthouse. Busy with visitors during the day, once the sun goes down, you’ll have the area all to yourself. Be the first to see the sun come up over the ocean – one early morning worth the effort.
This is a three bedroom cottage, and again may not suit everyone. Check out the assessment for suitability [Click Here]
Byron Central Apartments has funky self-contained apartments located one block from the main street. Main Beach is two minutes walk so you are going to the beach in your swimmers with only a towel.
One apartment is purpose built and provides full wheelchair accessibility. There are another 3 ground floor Studio apartments with walk in shower recesses, however no grab rails are fitted. The complex has a large salt water pool with a spacious sitting area. There are less than 4 stairs into the pool and a grab rail is fitted. For full assessment details [Click Here]
